Do you qualify for GS-12?
With experience: You need one year of specialized experience, meaning work that gave you the skills to do this job. To qualify at GS-12, that experience must be equal to the GS-11 level. Qualifying work includes translating customer requirements into acquisition documents, developing procurement packages, managing program life cycle documents, or supporting PPBE budget cycles.
With education: Education cannot replace experience at this grade. Any education you list must come from a school accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Licenses and certifications you need:
- DoD Acquisition Program Management Practitioner certification, earned within the required timeframes
How to apply well
What to send:
- Resume of no more than two pages showing work schedule, hours per week, dates of employment, and duties
- Resume file under 5MB, saved as PDF recommended
- Supporting documents that show you meet eligibility (see the Supporting Documents link)
- Reasonable accommodation request form, only if you need accommodation for the online assessments
How you will be rated: Your application is checked for basic eligibility and for whether your experience meets the basic qualifications. Qualified applicants go to the selecting official, and the rule of three and veterans' preference do not apply; you may also take USA Hire online assessments. Errors or missing information can lower your rating, and a resume over two pages removes you from consideration.
Tips for this job:
- Keep your resume to two pages or less, because going over removes you from consideration.
- For each job on your resume, list the work schedule, hours per week, dates, and duties.
- Describe your experience in translating requirements, procurement packages, life cycle documents, or PPBE work, since these match the qualifying experience.
