Who can apply: The public.
This job is open to the public. You must be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, or someone who owes allegiance to the United States.
Experience: You need one year of specialized experience, meaning work that gave you the skills to do this job. To qualify at GS-12, that experience must be equal to the GS-11 level. Qualifying work includes translating customer requirements into acquisition documents, developing procurement packages, managing program life cycle documents, or supporting PPBE budget cycles.
Education: Education cannot replace experience at this grade. Any education you list must come from a school accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Licenses and certifications:
- DoD Acquisition Program Management Practitioner certification, earned within the required timeframes
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents
Write a federal resume for this job. For each job you held, give the month and year you started and ended, your hours per week and what you did, using the words of the experience the announcement asks for. Many announcements accept resumes of up to 2 pages: check this one.
3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 3 days (November 6, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
The job will close once the agency receives 100 applications, which may happen before the closing date of 11/06/2026.
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your application is checked for basic eligibility and for whether your experience meets the basic qualifications. Qualified applicants go to the selecting official, and the rule of three and veterans' preference do not apply; you may also take USA Hire online assessments. Errors or missing information can lower your rating, and a resume over two pages removes you from consideration.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Secret), then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Keep your resume to two pages or less, because going over removes you from consideration.
- For each job on your resume, list the work schedule, hours per week, dates, and duties.
- Describe your experience in translating requirements, procurement packages, life cycle documents, or PPBE work, since these match the qualifying experience.
Kandidatu is an independent website: only the official posting counts. Read it before you apply.
