Do you qualify for VN?
With experience: Your RN experience is rated at grade levels from Nurse I to Nurse III, based on scope and five nursing dimensions. For example, Nurse I, Level III requires 2 years of professional nursing experience, with one year equal to Nurse I, Level 2. Higher grades need more specialized nursing experience.
With education: You must have graduated from a nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE when you finished. An associate degree (ADN), BSN, MSN, or doctorate can count, depending on the grade level. A master's in a related field needs a BSN, and foreign degrees are not creditable as related degrees.
Licenses and certifications you need:
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration in a U.S. state, territory, Puerto Rico, or D.C.
- Graduate Nurse Technician exception allows temporary appointment while pursuing licensure
