For GS-6, you need 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-5 level, such as onboarding contact work, benefits guidance, benefits enrollment, or HR ticket work. Your resume must show job title, duties, start and end months and years, and hours per week.

With education: For GS-5, 4 years of education above high school can qualify you instead of experience, or you can combine education and experience.
