Civil servants and contract staff can apply. No competitive exam is needed, because the category C grade allows direct hiring.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Hotel and catering, cooking option, or catering, culinary production option.
The profile they look for:
- Master cooking techniques used in collective catering.
- Know HACCP food hygiene rules.
- Be able to lead and coordinate a team.
- Have good people skills for working with pupils.
- Be able to stand for long periods and lift loads.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply online on the employer's website, using the full job advert from the Conseil départemental. Civil servants must attach the required documents.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Long periods standing, lifting loads, frequent heat or cold.
