How it works

1. You do not need to be a civil servant. Most offers are open to contract staff (contractuels): the administration hires you on a contract, without a competitive exam. We say so on every offer.
2. Check the diploma and the category. Category C: no diploma or a vocational certificate. Category B: high school diploma or two-year degree. Category A: bachelor’s degree or more. Each offer says what it asks for.
3. Apply on the official offer. You apply on Choisir le Service Public or with the employer, before the deadline, usually with a CV and a cover letter.
