1 Check the conditions You are here
Open to civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct hiring. Grades: adjoint administratif, adjoint administratif principal 2nd or 1st class.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Know public accounting rules and the M57 accounting instruction.
- Use financial management software and office tools.
- Work with figures carefully and methodically.
- Keep the information you handle confidential.
- Work in a team and communicate with departments and suppliers.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Send your CV and cover letter by email to the town hall, or by post to the Hôtel de ville. You can also apply on the employer's website.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work is not possible.
- Category C post, with no management duties.
- A bac+2 in public accounting is appreciated, but not required.
- Knowledge of CIRIL software is appreciated.
