Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Basic knowledge of road and structure maintenance.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work independently.
- Driving licence B and C, or ability to obtain them.
- Follows instructions, especially on hygiene and safety.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your application by post or email to the Department's human resources office.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty in summer and for winter road conditions.
- Driving licence B and C required, or ability to obtain them.
- No remote work possible.
- Based at the road maintenance centre in Issoudun.
