Open to civil servants (titulaires) and contract workers. A contract worker can be hired directly, without a competitive exam, because this is a job in a small local authority.

Experience: Beginners accepted
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone or in a small team
- High availability and possibly irregular hours
- Constant travel between work sites
- Frequent contact with elected officials, residents and suppliers
- Able to cope with seasonal and physical demands of the job
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Send your application by post, addressed to the Mayor, with the required documents.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work not possible.
- Irregular hours with a large daily range.
- Job exposed to noise, heavy loads and hazardous products.
