Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP/BEP in cooking or equivalent (or significant experience in collective catering)
Experience: Confirmed level required. A first supervisory experience is appreciated but not required.
The profile they look for:
- CAP/BEP in cooking or equivalent, or experience in collective catering.
- Good knowledge of hygiene, food safety (HACCP) and nutrition rules.
- Rigour, organisation skills and ability to plan ahead.
- Team spirit, good with people, and wish to supervise in the future.
- Real interest in food quality and children's meals.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Hours from 7:00 to 14:30 on school days, with annualised working time.
- Standing work, lifting loads and a fast pace in the kitchen.
- No evenings or weekends. Remote work is not possible.
- Training paid for (HACCP, nutrition, management).
