What you would do
- Receive patients, start the admitting process, and route patients to their destinations.
- Answer phones, triage calls, and gather patient information.
- Schedule outpatient clinic appointments using the Integrated Scheduling Solution.
- Audit encounter forms for accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Protect sensitive patient records as required by the Privacy Act.
Do you qualify for GS-6?
With experience: No experience is needed for the basic requirements. To qualify for GS-6, you need one year of experience at the next lower grade level, plus advanced knowledge of health care scheduling, patient flow, and medical terminology.
With education: A high school diploma or a GED or equivalent state proficiency certificate. Education from outside the U.S. must be judged equivalent to a U.S. program by a credential evaluation service.
