Current federal employees in the 0610 Nurse series employed since September 27, 2017 or earlier are exempt from these requirements.

With education: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in nursing from a professional nursing program can qualify you together with experience. A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing or related medical science program is an alternative path. Degrees must come from an accredited program, and foreign nursing degrees need a CGFNS certification or a qualifying credentials evaluation.

  • Passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)

  • Proof of current federal 0610 Nurse employment if claiming that exemption
