Experience: You need at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-14 level in the federal government, from private or public sector work. That experience must include managing hybrid cloud operations across providers like Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, or Oracle; ensuring IT security policy compliance; and leading IT staff. You also must show IT-related experience in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education: This job does not have an education requirement. Your work experience is what qualifies you.

Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.

2 Resume and documents

Write a federal resume for this job. For each job you held, give the month and year you started and ended, your hours per week and what you did, using the words of the experience the announcement asks for. Many announcements accept resumes of up to 2 pages: check this one.

3 Apply on USAJOBS

Closes in 2 days (November 5, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).

How they rate you: You are rated on your resume, application questionnaire, and a required USA Hire online assessment with a minimum cut score; a subject matter expert helps review resumes. Overstating your experience or cheating on the assessment can get you removed from consideration.

For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.

If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Sensitive Compartmented Information), then the final offer with your start date.

Tips for this job:

  • Your resume must be 2 pages or less and include the required items for each job, such as supervisor name and phone number, or it may be rated ineligible.
  • Copying text from the announcement without adding your own details about your experience will get you rated ineligible.
  • Complete the USA Hire assessment within 48 hours if the link reaches you after the closing date.
