Who can apply: The public.
Open to the public, but you must be a U.S. citizen, national, or owe allegiance to the U.S. Because the agency uses direct-hire authority, traditional veterans' preference rules do not apply, though qualified veterans get full consideration.
Experience: You need one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, such as supervising or leading technical work on Enterprise or VA facility Linux platforms, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux or AWS and Azure Linux systems. You must also show IT-related experience in four competencies at the next lower grade level: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
Education: Education cannot replace experience at this grade.
