Who can apply: The public.

Experience: You need at least 2 years of experience after getting advanced practice clinical licensure, in a specialized area of social work. One of those years must be equivalent to the GS-11 level.

Education: You need a master's degree in social work from a school fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). A doctoral degree in social work cannot replace the master's degree.

Licenses and certifications:

State license or certification to practice social work independently at the master's level
State license at the advanced practice level, including an advanced generalist or clinical exam, and the ability to supervise for licensure
