Do you qualify for VN?
With experience: Experience sets your grade level, from Nurse I, Level I up to Nurse III, and higher levels need more years and training. For example, Nurse I, Level III needs an associate degree plus 2 years of professional nursing experience. Preferred experience is 1 year of case management and 1 year of inpatient care.
With education: You can qualify with a nursing degree from a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE, depending on the grade level. Degrees that may apply include an associate degree, a bachelor's (BSN), or a master's (MSN), and the education must match the grade. Foreign nursing degrees need a formal equivalency validation. Graduates of foreign schools with a current, full, active, unrestricted registration can also meet the education requirement.
Licenses and certifications you need:
- Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a registered nurse in a U.S. state, territory, Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia
