O-4 requires a bachelor or master-prepared Registered Nurse, with a master's degree preferred. 2 Resume and documents

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 4 days (November 5, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your resume and supporting documents are reviewed to check that you meet the minimum qualifications. You may be selected for an interview at the hiring authority's discretion. You must also complete the occupational questionnaire on USAJOBS, and missing required information may lead to an ineligible or lower rating.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Other), then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- If you are a USPHS officer, include a copy of your Certificate of Investigation from eOPF and your three most recent COERs.
- If you are a CAD candidate, state your location preference in your cover letter and include your Appointment Board Decision Letter.
- Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on 11/05/2026, and materials sent by mail or email are not accepted.
