Who can apply: The public.
This job is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, or people who owe allegiance to the United States. Non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, under VA policy.
Experience: For Nurse IV, you need a master's degree in nursing and 4 years of professional nursing experience, one year of which is specialized nursing experience equivalent to Nurse III. With a doctorate in nursing, you need 3 years of professional nursing experience with the same one-year requirement.
Education: You must be a graduate of a nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE. For Nurse IV, you need a master's degree in nursing (MSN), or a master's in a related field plus a BSN, or a doctorate in nursing, or a doctorate in a related field plus a BSN. Foreign degrees do not count as related degrees.
Licenses and certifications:
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing registration (license) in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
