Overstating your experience or cheating on an assessment may get you removed.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Other), then the final offer with your start date.

- Give start and end dates in MM/YYYY format and hours per week for every job, or that experience may not count.
- If you qualify through education, upload legible transcripts when you apply, since they are required at that time.
- Upload your DD-214 or other veterans' documents with your application, and avoid special characters like % or # in file names.
