4 After you apply

In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.

For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.

If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.

Tips for this job:

  • Make sure your resume or CV clearly shows your managerial and mental health experience, with dates and details for each job.
  • Upload your podiatry license and, if you use education to qualify, your transcript, along with the questionnaire.
  • Claim veterans' preference in the questionnaire and attach proof, such as your DD-214, if it applies to you.
