At least 3 of those hours must be in calculus. For GS-7, you need a 4-year bachelor's degree and documented Superior Academic Achievement, such as being in the upper third of your class, having a 2.95 GPA or higher out of 4.0, or belonging to a national scholastic honor society. For GS-9, you can use two years of graduate study toward a master's degree, or one full year (18 semester hours) of graduate study in a related field such as business administration or public administration. All education must be completed by 31 Aug 2022.

3 Apply on USAJOBS

Closes in 337 days (September 30, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).

You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.

How they rate you: You are rated on your questionnaire answers, a HireVue online assessment, your transcripts, and your resume. If you do not complete the HireVue assessment, you will not be considered, and missing required information may lower your rating or make you ineligible.

Apply on USAJOBS ↗
4 After you apply

In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.

For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.

If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Secret), then the final offer with your start date.

Tips for this job:

  • Make sure your resume lists hours per week and month/year start and end dates for each job, or it may be marked insufficient.
  • Apply through both USAJOBS and the afciviliancareers.com recent graduates page, and finish the HireVue step.
  • Send transcripts showing your GPA, class standing, or honor society membership, since these determine if you qualify through education.
