Education: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in nursing from a professional nursing program can qualify you with experience. A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing or related medical science program can also qualify you. The school must be accredited by a recognized accrediting body, and you must attach transcripts. Graduates of foreign nursing schools must have completed the CGFNS certification program.
Licenses and certifications:
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted professional nurse license from a U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory

2 Resume and documents

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 13 days (November 16, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your application package, including your resume, supporting documents, and questionnaire answers, is reviewed to see whether you meet the qualification requirements. Missing or incomplete documents can make your application incomplete, and inflated qualifications can cause you to lose consideration.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Keep your resume to two pages or less and list hours per week for each job, or your application may be marked incomplete.
- Attach transcripts if you use your education to qualify, or you may be rated ineligible.
- Attach a copy of your nursing license and BLS certification, or you may be rated ineligible.
