Who can apply: The public.
The job is open to the public, but you must be a U.S. citizen, a national, or someone who owes allegiance to the U.S. Current VHA employees may qualify under a grandfathering rule if they meet the criteria in the announcement.
Experience: For this GS-6 job, you need one year of experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. The basic requirements list no specific experience.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. There is no advanced education substitution for this position, so a college degree does not replace the experience requirement. Foreign education must be evaluated by a recognized private organization and be at least equivalent to U.S. education.

2 Resume and documents

4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
