Who can apply: The public.
Open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and people who owe allegiance to the United States. The agency clarified that it is open to all U.S. citizens.
Experience: You need at least 1 year of experience at a level comparable to GG-8, which is the grade of this job. Qualifying experience includes project management, requirements analysis, quality control processes, giving presentations and briefings on project reviews, and giving technical or analytical advice to staff. Paid or unpaid experience counts, including volunteer work and military service, and you must meet all qualifications within 30 days after the closing date.
Education: Graduate-level education can replace part of the required experience if it is directly related to the job. Eighteen months of graduate education can substitute for the specialized experience, and the school must be accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting body. Education from foreign schools must be evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services when you apply.
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents
Write a federal resume for this job. For each job you held, give the month and year you started and ended, your hours per week and what you did, using the words of the experience the announcement asks for. Many announcements accept resumes of up to 2 pages: check this one.
3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 6 days (November 9, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your resume and supporting documents are compared with your questionnaire answers to decide if you are qualified. If it looks like you have overstated your qualifications or experience, you may lose consideration, and errors or missing information may lower your rating.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Sensitive Compartmented Information), then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume must list the month and year for each job, plus hours per week, or it may be rated ineligible.
- If you use graduate education to qualify, submit all of your transcripts with your application.
- Your complete application package must be received by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on 11/09/2026.
