How to apply well
What to send:
- Resume showing job title, duties, start and end dates (month/year), and average hours per week
- SF-50 and CTAP or ICTAP documentation if you are a displaced federal employee
How you will be rated: Your answers to the online questionnaire are checked first; the first question is a screen-out question that removes applicants who do not meet the minimum. Those who pass are rated on job skills such as dexterity and safety, operating equipment, technical practices, and work practices. The VA will not assume you have experience that is not clearly written on your resume.
Tips for this job:
- Include hours worked per week for each job on your resume, since the VA credits part-time experience by hours.
- Keep your resume to two pages or less, or your application will be ruled ineligible.
- Describe your laundry, linen, or equipment work in specific detail, because the VA does not assume experience.
