3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 5 days (November 9, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your resume and questionnaire answers are reviewed, then you are rated Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified. You must score at least 2 on the screen-out factor (working without more than normal supervision) and average at least 2 across all job elements. Resumes that do not support your answers, or that overstate experience, can lead to a rating of ineligible.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume is the only document reviewed for qualifications, so show specific rigging, splicing, or sail work you have done, not just job titles.
- Keep your resume to two single-sided pages with 10-point font and 0.5-inch margins; extra attachments are not reviewed.
- If you are a veteran or a displaced federal employee, upload your DD-214 or the CTAP/ICTAP proof documents with your application.
Kandidatu is an independent website: only the official posting counts. Read it before you apply.
