Who can apply: The public, Federal employees - Competitive service, Internal to an agency, Federal employees - Excepted service.
You must be a U.S. citizen, national, or someone who owes allegiance to the U.S. The job is open to current permanent VA employees, current permanent federal employees of other agencies, and all U.S. citizens.
Experience: You need one year of experience in a health care field, such as medical or clinical assistant or health technician, that shows you can do this work. For the GS-6 level, you need one year of experience equivalent to GS-5 plus the listed skills, which must appear on your resume. Prior CNA, military medic, military corpsman, or telehealth experience is preferred but not required.
Education: Four academic years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation. You can also combine experience and education, such as six months of health care experience plus two years of college with at least six semester hours in health care courses, or an associate's degree in a health care field. Six months of health care experience plus a qualifying military health course also works. Only accredited schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education count.
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes tomorrow (November 5, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
This job may close before the closing date once the agency receives 50 applications.
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: You will be rated on how well you meet the qualifications, based on your online questionnaire and resume. Your application and documents will be verified, and errors or missing information may lower your rating or make you ineligible.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Make sure your resume shows specific dates, hours per week, and duties for each health care job you list.
- If you use education to qualify, attach your transcript, or your application may be rated lower.
- Describe your computer and telehealth technology skills clearly on your resume, since the GS-6 level requires them to be shown there.
