Who can apply: The public.
Only U.S. citizens, nationals, or people who owe allegiance to the U.S. can apply. You must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-7 level. This means coordinating decisions on program management and administrative support, analyzing health care operations, and developing recommendations to solve problems in a clinical support division.
Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher graduate study leading to one, or an LL.B. or J.D. A field such as hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields like business or public administration with health care administration coursework is needed. You can also combine education and experience to reach 100 percent. Education from a foreign school must be evaluated by a private evaluation organization or given full credit by a U.S. accredited school.
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents
Write a federal resume for this job. For each job you held, give the month and year you started and ended, your hours per week and what you did, using the words of the experience the announcement asks for. Many announcements accept resumes of up to 2 pages: check this one.
3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes today (November 4, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your application package, including your resume, supporting documents, and questionnaire responses, will be reviewed to see if you meet the qualifications. Incomplete packages or missing required information may result in an ineligible rating or a lower overall rating. If your qualifications or experience are found to be inflated, you may lose consideration.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume must be two pages or less and must show the hours per week for each job.
- If you qualify through education, submit your transcript with your application or you will be rated ineligible.
- Describe your experience in plain language and avoid acronyms, since the agency will not assume what your resume means.
