Do you qualify for GS-7 to GS-11?
With experience: For GS-7, you need 1 year of experience at the GS-5 level, such as reviewing technical documents against program standards, using databases to write reports, or interpreting U.S. grade standards for a commodity. For GS-9 you need 1 year at the GS-7 level, and for GS-11 1 year at the GS-9 level, in areas like investigations, licensing, business law, and writing regulations. Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, counts.

How to apply well
What to send:
- Resume of two pages maximum, showing hours per week, dates, and supervisors' names and phone numbers
- College transcripts if you use education to qualify (an unofficial copy is fine at first)

How you will be rated: Applicants who meet the minimum requirements are rated Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified, based on experience, an online questionnaire, and USA Hire assessments that test 12 competencies such as attention to detail and integrity. Overstating your experience or cheating on an assessment can get you removed, and your resume must back up your questionnaire answers.
Tips for this job:
- Make sure your resume shows hours per week, dates, and supervisor contact details for each job, and stays within two pages.
- Use your resume to back up each questionnaire answer about experience or education, since weak support can lower your rating.
- If you use education to qualify, upload a transcript with your name and course details, and be ready to send official copies if selected.
