2 Resume and documents

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 126 days (March 10, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
This is an open continuous announcement, so applications are grouped by cut-off dates into referral rounds, and applications received by each date are considered for that round's referral.
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: First, your resume must show you meet the minimum qualifications, including a screen-out factor on doing the work independently without more than normal supervision; failing it makes you ineligible. Qualified applicants then answer self-assessment questions and are placed in Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified categories, and your score can be lowered or you can be removed if your answers are not supported by your resume.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Other), then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume must clearly show hands-on work maintaining, programming, or testing protective relays or revenue metering equipment.
- Only the first two pages of your resume are reviewed, so put your most relevant experience first.
- For each job, list the employer's full name and address, start and end dates by month, day and year, and hours per week.
