Who can apply: The public.
Only U.S. citizens may apply. The announcement is open to the public, and you must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
Experience: You need one year of specialized experience typical of GS-7 work. This means performing diagnostic radiologic exams such as CT, setting up exam rooms, and operating radiologic equipment.
Education: You can qualify with one and a half years of graduate-level education directly related to the work, such as diagnostic radiology or radiography. You can also combine education and experience, as long as the total reaches at least 100 percent. Education must come from an accredited school recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be evaluated or given full credit by a U.S. accredited school.
Licenses and certifications:
- Radiology certification as a CT radiologist, required to meet the basic requirement
- Computed Tomography (CT) certification within 6 months of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network within 30 days of employment
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 5 days (November 3, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your application package, including your resume, questionnaire responses, and supporting documents, will be reviewed against the qualification requirements. Missing or incorrect information may affect your eligibility, and inflated qualifications may cause you to lose consideration.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume must be two pages or less and list hours per week for each job, or it may be marked incomplete.
- Upload your CT certification, and transcripts if you use education, or you will be rated ineligible.
- Submit by 11:59 PM EST on 11/03/2026, and allow up to an hour for uploaded files to clear the virus scan.
