1 Check you can apply You are here
Who can apply: The public.
The job is listed as open to the public, but the conditions of employment say you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
Experience: You can qualify with 1 year of experience equivalent to GS-11, the next lower grade. The announcement does not say what kind of experience counts beyond that.
Education: A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited program (Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education) qualifies you on its own. Basic education requirement: graduate of an ACPE-accredited school with a BS in Pharmacy and/or a Pharm.D.; since 2005 the Pharm.D. is the only degree offered. Foreign pharmacy graduates qualify with FPGEC certification (a foreign pharmacy credential exam and English test).
Licenses and certifications:
- Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a U.S. state, U.S. territory, or D.C.
- Maintain BLS and ACLS certification (basic and advanced life support)
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents
Write a federal resume for this job. For each job you held, give the month and year you started and ended, your hours per week and what you did, using the words of the experience the announcement asks for. Many announcements accept resumes of up to 2 pages: check this one.
3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 3 days (November 6, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: You are rated on how well you meet the listed qualifications, and your application and documents will be verified. Missing or unclear information may lower your rating or make you ineligible, and reference checks may be done; the announcement also recommends writing answers to four skill statements (KSAs).
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Submit a transcript with your application, because it is required for this job.
- Your license must be current and unrestricted, so upload a copy with your package.
- A 2-page resume limit does not apply here, so a long-form resume or CV is fine. The complete package is due by 11:59 PM ET on 11/06/2026.
Kandidatu is an independent website: only the official posting counts. Read it before you apply.
