Who can apply: The public.
The job is open to the public. You must be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, or someone who owes allegiance to the U.S. Some applicants get preference, such as military spouses, veterans, and people in the transition hiring program, but you must prove any preference by the closing date.
Experience: You need a high school diploma or equivalent to apply at any level. Target level (pay grade CY 1 to 2) needs 18 months of work in a childcare or youth program, plus a credential or training. Intermediate level needs 6 months of experience like the entry level, plus 3 Air Force training modules and Air Force Orientation. Entry level needs no previous experience.
Education: Education can replace some experience. Target level can use an associate degree with a 24-credit-hour major related to the age group, or a bachelor's degree or 120 semester hours in a related field such as early childhood education, child development, or recreation. Schools must be accredited, and foreign education must be shown to be equivalent to U.S. education.
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents
