Who can apply: The public.
This job is open to the public, but you must be a U.S. citizen, a non-U.S. national, or someone who owes allegiance to the U.S. Non-U.S. nationals must have lived in the U.S. or a U.S. territory for at least three continuous years right before federal employment starts.
Experience: You need work experience directly related to the duties. Your resume must clearly show this experience. You must also show you can teach golf, either by finishing or currently being enrolled in PGA Class A Certification.
Education: Education directly related to the duties can count instead of work experience. The job has no separate education requirement.
Licenses and certifications:
- PGA Class A Certification, or proof of current enrollment in it
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents
Write a federal resume for this job. For each job you held, give the month and year you started and ended, your hours per week and what you did, using the words of the experience the announcement asks for. Many announcements accept resumes of up to 2 pages: check this one.
3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 47 days (December 15, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
The initial cut-off date is Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern. Applications received by then are reviewed first, and later referrals may happen as more vacancies open.
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: You will be rated on how well you meet the qualifications, based on your resume, supporting documents, and questionnaire answers. Incomplete applications, including skipped questionnaire items, may be rated ineligible, and overstated experience may hurt your consideration.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Upload your PGA Class A Certification or proof of enrollment with your application, since it is required and missing it can cost you eligibility
- Keep your resume to two pages or less and clearly show your golf instruction experience
- Online applications must be complete by 11:59 PM Eastern on 12/15/2026, and applying before October 29, 2026 gets earlier review
Kandidatu is an independent website: only the official posting counts. Read it before you apply.
