Who can apply: The public, Federal employees - Excepted service, Federal employees - Competitive service.
The job is open to the public and to current federal employees. The announcement says you must be a U.S. citizen, nationals or people who owe allegiance to the U.S. are also listed, and non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
Experience: To qualify for this GS-6 job, you need one year of experience equivalent to GS-5. Examples include delivering healthcare services in a clinic or hospital, answering phones, greeting patients, and scheduling appointments. Your resume must show job titles, duties, month and year dates, and hours per week for each job.
Education: A high school diploma, GED, or state or territorial proficiency certificate meets the basic education requirement. Accredited college education may also be used, but only if it is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Experience can be paid or unpaid, volunteer work included: if it matches the duties, it counts. The full rules are in the announcement.
2 Resume and documents

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 4 days (November 9, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
This job will close once 20 applications are received, which may happen before the closing date.
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: You will be rated on how well you meet the qualifications, using your questionnaire, the USA Hire online assessment, and your verified documents. Missing documents, unclear dates, or missing hours can lower your rating or remove you, and current federal employees are referred first, before other qualified applicants.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Other), then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume must list exact start and end dates (month/day/year) and hours per week for each job, or that experience may not count.
- If you are a current or former federal employee, include a current SF-50 or you will be removed from consideration.
- Complete the USA Hire online assessment, and request any accommodation before you start it.
