2 Resume and documents

3 Apply on USAJOBS
Closes in 173 days (April 26, until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).
You sign in to USAJOBS with a Login.gov account, answer the questionnaire and upload your documents, then you submit. Answer the questionnaire honestly: your resume must show what you claim.
How they rate you: Your application is reviewed against the job requirements using your resume and answers to the vacancy questions. The top candidates may be referred to the hiring manager for an interview. Missing required documents or answers can make your application incomplete, and failure to provide required information may result in an ineligible rating. False statements can lead to removal from federal service.
4 After you apply
In USAJOBS, under Applications, you can see where your application stands: received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager or not, then selected or not. It can take a few weeks.
For the interview, prepare three examples with the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, what you did (Action) and the Result.
If they choose you: a tentative offer, then a background check, a security clearance (Q Access Authorization), then the final offer with your start date.
Tips for this job:
- Your resume must show job title, employer, dates, and hours per week for each job, and it must clearly address the specialized experience and ideal candidate criteria in the announcement.
- Send transcripts for every degree you list, since diplomas are not accepted in place of transcripts.
- Choose two writing samples that you wrote substantially yourself, and clearly mark your parts of any co-authored work.
