Legal requirements:
- Have Mexican citizenship and full rights, or an immigration status that allows the job
- Not have been sentenced to prison for an intentional crime
- Be suitable for performing duties in the public service
- Not belong to the clergy or practice any religious ministry
- Not have a disqualification record for public service or any other legal impediment
- Present and pass the evaluations indicated
- Not have a final sentence for certain serious crimes, such as crimes against life or bodily integrity, sexual crimes, family violence or political violence against women
- Not be declared a delinquent alimony debtor
2 Register on TrabajaEn
Registration: October 14 to October 27.
Register only at www.trabajaen.gob.mx between October 14 and October 27, 2026. The system will give you a participation folio that you will use throughout the competition.
To register you need your CURP and RFC, a TrabajaEn account and an up-to-date TrabajaEn CV. When you register for this job you get a folio number: keep it, you need it at every stage.
3 Exams and documents
The stages of the contest:
- Technical knowledge exam for the position (from November 3, 2026 to January 11, 2027)
- General knowledge exam of the federal public administration (from November 3, 2026 to January 11, 2027)
- Skills assessment (from November 3, 2026 to January 11, 2027)
- Document review, experience assessment and merit assessment (from November 3, 2026 to January 11, 2027)
- Interview (from November 3, 2026 to January 11, 2027)
- Decision and final result (from November 3, 2026 to January 11, 2027)
Minimum score: 70 de 100 en el examen de conocimientos técnicos, en la subetapa de conocimientos y en la calificación final de la entrevista

Keep in mind:
- If the system rejects you, you can request reactivation of your folio until October 28, 2026 by emailing ingresospc@energia.gob.mx
- Dates may change, and you will be notified at least 2 business days in advance in your Trabajaen account; dates will not be changed at candidates' request
- Anyone who does not attend an evaluation on the stated date and time is disqualified
- Finalists who do not win but score 70 or more join the reserve list of candidates for one year

4 Interview and result
The interview is with the Selection Technical Committee: prepare examples of your experience in the duties of the job. Then the committee chooses the winner. If you are a finalist and do not win, you join the candidate reserve for the job for one year.
The duties of the job:
- Determine the legal rules that regulate natural gas and petrochemicals.
- Evaluate draft provisions and Mexican official standards on this subject.
- Propose the national policy on petrochemicals and natural gas.
- Define the draft five-year plan to expand natural gas infrastructure.
- Submit to higher authority the capacity allocation mechanisms of permit holders.
