Civil servants and contract agents can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible, because the entry grade of category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Vocational baccalaureate in vehicle maintenance, car or heavy truck mechanics, or significant experience in mechanics or fleet management.
Experience: Significant experience in mechanics or fleet management, instead of the diploma.
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of the Highway Code and safety rules.
- Technical knowledge of light vehicles, heavy trucks and machines.
- Basic knowledge of fleet management, budget follow-up and public procurement.
- Public service mindset, rigour and organisation.
- Ability to work in a team and with different departments.
- Category B driving licence required; categories C and/or BE preferred.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Often works outside, across all the member communes.
- May be called outside normal hours in case of breakdown or accident.
- Based in Thiers.
