Civil servants (titulaires) can apply, at the grades of agent de maîtrise, agent de maîtrise principal, technicien or technicien principal de 2e classe. A contract worker can be hired only if no civil servant application has succeeded.

- Knowledge of local government and how a council works
- Knowledge of roads, buildings, green spaces, cemeteries and street cleaning
- Knowledge of public building safety rules (fire safety, accessibility)
- Sense of public service, teamwork and independence
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Drive)
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
