Civil servants with the grade of ingénieur territorial or on the aptitude list can apply. Contract agents can also apply. People recognised as disabled workers can be hired under contract.
Category: Category A (executive)
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a technical department of a local authority.
The profile they look for:
- Know building works: masonry, plumbing and electrical work.
- Know health and safety rules at work.
- Be able to manage a department and lead teams.
- Have basic knowledge of public purchasing and public finance.
- Be teaching-minded, firm, tactful and a good listener.
- Be rigorous, organised and methodical.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
