The profile they look for:
- Technical and regulatory knowledge of buildings, green spaces and roads.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules and worksite signage rules.
- Ability to organise, lead and motivate a team.
- Authority, fair decision-making and handling of conflicts.
- Rigour, organisation and method.
- Good skills with office and computer tools.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer’s website or by email to the town hall. Write « Candidature responsable des services techniques » in the email subject.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence (category B) required.
- Statutory pay, RIFSEEP bonus and 8 euro meal vouchers, with 50% paid by the employer.
