Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who did not pass a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Good people skills, honesty and integrity.
- Mental arithmetic skills and comfort with numbers.
- Ability to handle difficult face-to-face situations with traders.
- Willingness to train on market regulations.
- Punctual, with a team spirit.
- Comfortable with computer tools (Word, Excel, MapInfo).
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category C job.
- Remote work is not possible.
- Work is standing, outdoors and in all seasons.
- A driving licence (permis B) is a plus.
