Open to civil servants (permanent staff) and contract staff. The State diploma of psychologist is required.
Category: Category A (executive)
Diploma: State diploma required (psychologist title)
The profile they look for:
- Know how the mind works and psychopathologies.
- Know how to work in a team and manage a project.
- Know how to analyse.
- Have a sense of human relations and listening.
- Know how to communicate and speak clearly orally.
- Know how to adapt and show initiative.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply through the official offer on Choisir le Service Public. Internal staff use the single mobility or recruitment request form.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Frequent travel within the Paris police prefecture area (75, 92, 93, 94).
- Occasional travel to Police Academy sites (Paris, Lognes 77).
- Emotionally difficult work situations and possible contact with armed staff.
- Must respect the psychologists' code of ethics.
