Diploma: Doctorate or equivalent
The profile they look for:
- Solid knowledge of political and economic sociology.
- Very good command of qualitative methods in social sciences.
- Ability to investigate a field that is hard to access.
- Ability to build and work with databases.
- Ability to work in English and in an international team.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category A job, at manager level.
- The job is part of a programme funded by the ANR and the DFG for three years.
- English is required. German is an asset but not required.
