- Sense of public service and respect for ethics
- Ability to talk, listen and stay firm
- Legal knowledge on the mayor's powers and criminal procedure
- Good physical fitness
- Holds a category B driving licence
- Knows basic first aid
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website linked from the official offer. You can also send your CV and cover letter by post or by email to the town hall's HR department.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Weapon carrying possible after training and Prefecture authorisation
- Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week, with some weekends for events
