Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Know the plumbing rules for buildings.
- Know the basic regulations for maintenance work.
- Organise and plan your work.
- Identify the materials and equipment needed.
- Install and maintain heating and hot water systems.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty 7 days a week, one week in five during the heating season.
- Driving licence required.
- 35 hours per week, with flexible hours.
- Remote work not possible.
