Open to civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can apply, because the entry grade allows direct hiring. Grades: adjoint technique, adjoint technique principal 1st or 2nd class.

Diploma: CAP plumber-heating certificate or equivalent

- CAP plumber-heating certificate or equivalent
- Driving licence category B required
- Skills with copper, PVC, steel, welding and brazing
- Basic knowledge of gas and electricity
- Public service mindset and good people skills
- Rigour, autonomy and respect for hygiene and safety rules
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty for buildings, about 4 weeks per year
- Availability required at events on weekends and public holidays
- Personal protective equipment provided for welding work
- Remote work not possible
