Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competition can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to carry out road maintenance.
- Able to organise your own work.
- Knowledge of road works techniques.
- Shows rigour.
- Punctual and discreet.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, through the official offer on Choisir le Service Public.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- 4 weeks of on-call duty per year.
- Remote work is not possible.
- Post vacant from 1 January 2027.
- Category C post, no management duties.
