Civil servants of the grade of hors-classe doctor of professional firefighters can apply by transfer, secondment or on a suitability list. Contract staff can also apply, and disabled workers can get the job by contract.
Category: Category A (executive)
Diploma: Doctor of medicine, registered with the Ordre des médecins
Experience: Wanted: experience as head or deputy doctor, or in occupational medicine in an SDIS
The profile they look for:
- Doctor of medicine registered with the Ordre des médecins.
- Emergency medicine qualification appreciated.
- Experience as head or deputy doctor, or in occupational medicine in an SDIS, is wanted.
- Good knowledge of rules on fitness and medical follow-up of firefighters.
- Skills in management and team coordination.
- Ability to organise, analyse and run projects.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Based at the headquarters of the SIS, in Fort-de-France.
- Regular travel across the whole territory.
- Takes part in on-call duties and operational missions.
