Civil servants have priority. People who are not civil servants can also apply if they have a technical or vocational diploma of at least bac level. Driving licence B is required.

Category: Category B (intermediate)

Diploma: Vocational baccalaureate in mechanics, or professional skills in mechanics or electromechanics

The profile they look for:

  • Vocational baccalaureate in mechanics, or skills in mechanics or electromechanics.
  • Know the basics of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and electricity.
  • Read mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Use control and diagnostic tools.
  • Driving licence B required, licence C preferred.
  • Teamwork, independence and a sense of responsibility.
2 Résumé and cover letter

A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer

If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

Good to know:

  • Start from 7:30 am, with possible on-call shifts until 5:30 pm, taken in turns.
  • Work in difficult conditions (smells, dirt). No remote work.
  • 36h20 work week, part-time possible, 35 days of paid leave.
